Set within the vibrant West Edge of beautiful Downtown Shreveport, artspace is a unique contemporary Arts Center with open gallery spaces that make it the ideal location for wedding celebrations, anniversaries, birthday parties, corporate events, and casual or formal occasions.

Th artspace team is here to transform “our” space into your “YOUR” space.  Let the artspace team help design your event within the current - or future - Exhibition.  artspace Exhibitions change every 8 weeks...what seems remarkable today, will be totally different in a matter of months!  The artspace team will share the Exhibition Calendar with you so that, together, we can start your visioning process.  Pricing includes many amenities such as chairs, a variety of tables, and Audio/Visual equipment. For an additional fee, the artspace team can design your event and include thematic decor, a hands-on Artist, and Music: Live, DJ, or Recorded. 

Operating Hours can be adjusted to meet your schedule.  

artspace can accommodate up to 500 people across the entire building. When you host your event at artspace, your guests will enjoy all of the exhibits and shop in our giftspace. You can even arrange a custom gift for your special guests created by an artspace artist.

BIG RENTAL SPACES

mainspace - 1st Floor

  • 6 hours, to include pre-decorating and post-clean-up time

  • Hosts up to 100 guests seated, and 150 guests with standing cocktail tables maximum at one time.

    Number of guests is subject to change based on the layout of the exhibition.

  • Perfect for a larger “come and go” gathering. Access to and private use of artspace’s first floor mainspace gallery. 

    Depending on the exhibition being shown, this gallery is perfect to hold a small wedding ceremony, with reception held upstairs in the coolspace gallery. These exhibitions are always dynamic and thematic.  Advance planning with the artspace team will ensure that your event ties perfectly to the Exhibition!  Note: artspace does not remove or rearrange the artworks on mainspace.

    Sundays & Holidays + $500

coolspace - 2nd Floor

  • 6 hours, to include pre-decorating and post-clean-up time

  • Hosts 160 guests seated at round tables, 190 guests seated theatre style, and 175 guests for combined seating, standing, and dancing.

  • Access to and private use of artspace’s upstairs gallery, coolspace. This beautiful, open gallery features floor to ceiling windows that make a great backdrop for any event including reception, rehearsal dinners, holiday parties, corporate conferences, and more.

    Custom to this gallery, only, for a nominal fee of $250, the artspace team will remove or reposition up to four artworks for your event. This gallery is our most popular - and flexible - rental space!

studiospace - Downstairs

  • 6 hours, to include pre-decorating and post-clean-up time.

  • Hosts up to 100 guests depending on set up. Worktables are available to seat 40.

  • Access to and private use of artspace’s newly renovated studiospace for 6 hours, to include pre-decorating and post-clean-up time. This spot is perfect for a DIY - or “do it with an Artist” themed party, or a messy, large-scale art project. Worktables are available to seat 40. The studiospace is also idea as a dressing room for a Wedding, Prom, or Reception. And, it’s the perfect “lounge area” with its intimate low ceilings. ARTSPACE is YOUR SPACE for smaller, intimate meetings or daytime workshops and conferences. “Day” rates are so reasonable!

The mainspace Nook

  • Tuesday - Friday
    8am-4pm,
    with a minimum of 3 hours.

  • 20-30 guests

  • This space can accommodate 10-12 guests comfortably, and has a flat screen TV that you can hook up to a laptop. It is located on the main floor and has easy access to restrooms. This space is best for a casual brainstorming meeting or a collaborative planning session for multiple artists.

Access to and private use of all floors (coolspace, mezzanine, mainspace, and studiospace). The entire building accommodates a maximum of 500 guests. Our galleries may not be able to seat more than 200, depending on set up and current exhibitions. This option is recommended for events that need multiple spaces for programming, awards ceremonies, larger parties, and wedding ceremony/receptions.

  • Onsite Tech Support available for $25/hour (4-hour minimum)

  • Tables/Seating* to accommodate up to 200 guests (100 guests for smaller weekday events)

  • *From House Inventory: 6’-8’ Buffet Tables, 60’ Rounds Tables, 30’ Round “Hi-Top” Cocktail Tables, Chairs

  • The studiospace Rental also includes Work Tables and Stools to accommodate up to 100 guests.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I bring in my own food/caterer?
Food and bar for all artspace events is exclusively provided by Pepito XO Catering! The artspace team will connect you with the Peptio’s Catering Team that brings the delicicacies of Pepito XO restaurant.  Don’t be fooled by the pass “Pepito’s” - Peptio XO provides full-scale catering providing a unique foodie experience for your event.  

Is security required? 
For events that serve alcohol and/or host 75 or more guests, security is required.  As the rental client, you are responsible for the costs of security provided by the Shreveport Police Department (SPD). Officers are paid $40/hour, for a minimum of 3 hours (and as long as your guests are in the building.) You do not need Officers for the set up or clean up of your event.  One SPD officer is needed per 75 guests. artspace or Parish Taceaux staff will book security based on the final headcount provided. You will receive the name of the Officers and the amount due each Officer.  The $40 per hour fee is automatically added if your event goes five (5) minutes over the prescribed time frame, per the rules of the SPD. 

Can you help me book a band/DJ/other performing entertainment?
We sure can! We know a ton of independent artists and groups that love performing for events, and we can help find the best one for you. Don’t forget to think about a hands-on art-making experience for adults and/or children!

Do I need event insurance?
Yes. Every event held at artspace must be insured with event insurance, which can be procured through the same insurance company that you have your home, car, or renter’s insurance policy through. Contact artspace staff for more details!

I’ve decided I want to host my event here! How do I make sure my date isn’t taken?
We’re so happy to welcome you! Contact us ASAP to place your $500 deposit to secure your event date, and to set an appointment for a walk-through and contract signing.
